Sodhi Rai
Sodhi is a clan of Khatri, Khatris who historically lived in both eastern and western Punjab, India, Punjab. Some notable Sikh gurus, Sikh Gurus, including Hari Das, Guru Ram Das, Prithi Chand, to Guru Arjan were from the Sodhi clan. Origin According to a legend, some of the descendants migrated to Sanaudh where the clan chieftain married the daughter of the king and had a son named Sodhi Rai whose descendants ruled over the Sanaudh, Sanaudh region now known as east and west Punjab and Haryana and some parts of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The Sodhis of Anandpur held revenue free lands in Anandpur Sahib and various other parts of Punjab, India, Punjab. They were the ruling family of Anandpur Sahib. Sikh Empire
The Sikh Empire was a regional power based in the Punjab, Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. It existed from 1799, when Maharaja Ranjit Singh captured Lahore, to 1849, when it was defeated and conquered by the East India Company, British East India Company following the Second Anglo-Sikh War. At its peak in the mid-19th century the empire extended from Gilgit and Tibet under Qing rule, Tibet in the north to the Thar Desert, deserts of Sindh in the south and from the Khyber Pass in the west to the Sutlej in the east, and was divided into eight provinces. Ishmeet Singh Sodhi
''Ishmeet Singh'' (2 September 1988 – 29 July 2008) was a winning singer on the STAR Plus show Amul STAR Voice of India. Hailing from Model town, Ludhiana of Punjab, Ishmeet won the Star Plus show in 2007 and also participated in another reality show called Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar. His first album was a religious Gurbani album called Satgur Tumre Kaaj Savaare. He died by suspected drowning in Malé, Maldives on 29 July 2008. He was a second year student of MNC College, Mumbai.
