Sod Ryan
John Joseph "Sod" Ryan (December 31, 1905 – December 9, 1964) was an American football tackle who played two seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears and Portsmouth Spartans, playing 5 games with the Bears in 1929 and 3 with the Spartans in 1930. He was good friends with Bears owner George Halas. Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. George Halas
George Stanley Halas Sr. (; February 2, 1895October 31, 1983), nicknamed "Papa Bear" and "Mr. Everything", was an American professional football player, coach, and team owner. He was the founder and owner of the National Football League's Chicago Bears, and served as his own head coach on four occasions. He was also lesser-known as a Major League Baseball player for the New York Yankees.
