Society For Political Change
The Society for Political Change (, SCP) was a social-liberal political party in Latvia founded on 6 September 2008. Its members include two former ministers, former foreign minister Artis Pabriks and former economics minister Aigars Štokenbergs; its first president was economist Gatis Kokins. The SCP ran as part of the Unity rainbow party alliance in the 2010 parliamentary election to the Saeima. The party won six seats, out of the list's total of 33. After the election, the SCP demanded that the right-wing National Alliance, which includes previous coalition partners For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK (, abbreviated to TB/LNNK) was a free-market, national conservative political party in Latvia. Aigars Štokenbergs (born 29 August 1963 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian people, Latvian politician from the Society for Other Politics party who served as the Ministry of Justice (Latvia), Minister of Justice from 3 November 2010 to 25 October 2011. Štokenbergs has also been Ministry of Economics (Latvia), Minister of Economics of Latvia from 8 April to 7 November 2006, and List of Ministers of Regional Development and Local Governments of Latvia, Minister of Regional Development and Local Governments of Latvia from 7 November 2006 to 19 October 2007. National Alliance (Latvia)
The National Alliance (, NA), officially the National Alliance "All for Latvia!" – "For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK" (), is a national-conservative political party in Latvia. It was formed as an electoral alliance for the 2010 Latvian parliamentary election between the For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK and All for Latvia! parties. It won eight seats, placing it fourth among all parties. In July 2011, it merged into a single political party under the leadership of Gaidis Bērziņš and Raivis Dzintars. In the 2014 Latvian parliamentary election, it again increased its seats to seventeen, and entered a centre-right coalition, along with Unity and the Union of Greens and Farmers under Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma. The Union of Greens and Farmers (, ZZS) is an agrarian political alliance in Latvia. It is made up of the Latvian Farmers' Union, Latvian Social Democratic Workers' Party, and For Latvia and Ventspils. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, sometimes also described as a centre-right or a centre-left party. It is orientated towards agrarian, conservative, Eurosceptic, and green policies, and can be considered a centrist Nordic agrarian alliance, with nationalist and anti-liberal elements. For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK (, abbreviated to TB/LNNK) was a free-market, national conservative political party in Latvia. In 2011, it dissolved and merged into the National Alliance (Latvia), National Alliance. The party was founded from smaller groups in 1993 as For Fatherland and Freedom (TB), with a focus on promoting the Latvian language and putting a cap on Naturalization, naturalisation of Latvian Non-citizens (Latvia), non-citizens. It won six Saeima seats in 1993 Latvian parliamentary election, its first year, and 14 1995 Latvian parliamentary election, in 1995, when it entered the governing centre-right coalition. 2010 Latvian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Latvia on 2 October 2010. It was the first parliamentary election to be held in Latvia since the beginning of the 2008 Latvian financial crisis during which Latvia had experienced one of the deepest recessions in the world. A total of 1,239 candidates representing 13 parties or alliances stood in five electoral constituencies equivalent to the four regions of Latvia and Riga city. With 1012 of 1013 polling stations counted, results showed an increase in support for the incumbent coalition government of Valdis Dombrovskis, with 58% of the vote and 63 of the 100 seats.
