Social Right (faction)
Social Right (''Destra Sociale'') was the main national conservatism, national- and social conservatism, social-conservative faction within National Alliance (Italy), National Alliance, a list of political parties in Italy, political party in Italy. The faction had two main leaders: Francesco Storace and Gianni Alemanno. Although the first had once been one of the closest aides to Gianfranco Fini, the faction soon became the most vocally critic of Fini's leadership and his departures from the tradition of the post-Italian fascism, fascist Italian Social Movement. The faction's stances ranged from a strong social conservatism to a sort of economic left-wing populism, favouring big government and criticising free market. National Conservatism
National conservatism is a nationalist variant of conservatism that concentrates on upholding national and cultural identity. National conservatives usually combine nationalism with conservative stances promoting traditional cultural values, family values and opposition to immigration. Christian democracy (sometimes named Centrist democracy) is a political ideology that emerged in 19th-century Europe under the influence of Catholic social teaching and neo-Calvinism. National Movement For Sovereignty
The National Movement for Sovereignty ( it, Movimento Nazionale per la Sovranità, MNS) was a national-conservative political party in Italy, founded on 18 February 2017, with the merger of National Action and The Right. Its founders were Gianni Alemanno and Francesco Storace, both former ministers and former leaders of the two founding parties, respectively. National Action ( it, Azione Nazionale, AN) was a conservative political party in Italy. Its members initially insisted that National Action, whose acronym is intentionally identical to that of the defunct National Alliance, was not a party, but a cultural association. The new AN's mentors were Gianfranco Fini (founder and leader of National Alliance, minister of Foreign Affairs, deputy prime minister and president of the Chamber of Deputies) and Gianni Alemanno (former leading member of National Alliance, minister of Agricolture and mayor of Rome). Brothers of Italy ( it, Fratelli d'Italia, FdI) is a national-conservative and right-wing populist political party in Italy. It is led by Giorgia Meloni, the incumbent Prime Minister of Italy and the first woman to serve in the position. The European People's Party (EPP) is a European political party with Christian-democratic, conservative, and liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative member parties. A transnational organisation, it is composed of other political parties.
