Social Justice Party () is a political party in Somalia. It was founded in November 2014 by former mayor of Mogadishu Mohamed Nur. The main purpose of forming this party is to promote justice, unity and facilitate the development and reconstruction of the country. In May 2015, the party's office opened in Sweden. Mohamed Nur
Mohamoud Ahmed Nur ( so, Maxamed Nuur, ar, محمد نور) is a Somali politician. He served as the Mayor of Mogadishu from 2010 to 27 February 2014. Background Personal life Nur was born to a family from the Udejeen sub-clan of the Hawiye. He was raised in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Nur is married to Shamis, with whom he has six children and grandchildren from four of them. When the Somali Civil War broke out in the early 1990s, he and his family emigrated to London in 1993. The family initially stayed in Hackney, later relocating to the North West neighborhood, where they are still based. Political Parties In Somalia
This article lists political parties in Somalia. In 2017 an independent electoral commission was inaugurated with a mandate to oversee the process of registration of political parties in the country, according to Article 47 of the Federal Provisional Constitution which provides for an electoral system. The system guarantees participation of every individual who subscribes to a political party. NIEC has registered over 100 political parties, most of which still operate from outside the country for security reasons. In October 2019 six parties joined together to form the Forum for National Parties, an alliance founded by former president Sharif Sheikh Ahmed which has come together to address the political and security issues faced by Somalia.
