Soccer Bowl (2011–2017), NASL Championship Series 2012 was the North American Soccer League (2011–2017), North American Soccer League's postseason championship final of the 2012 North American Soccer League season, 2012 season. Also known as the NASL Championship Series 2012, the event was contested in a two-game aggregate match between the Tampa Bay Rowdies and, the defending 2011 North American Soccer League season, 2011 NASL champions, the Minnesota United FC, Minnesota Stars. The first leg was held on October 20, 2012 at National Sports Center, in Blaine, Minnesota, while the second on October 27, 2012 at Al Lang Stadium, in St. Petersburg, Florida. After a two-day competition, both sides were tied at three points apiece. Following extra time, the game went to Penalty shoot-out (association football), penalty shoot-out. Soccer Bowl (2011–2017)
The NASL Championship was the annual championship competition of the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), which formed the second division of Soccer in the United States, American soccer from 2011 to 2017. The competition was held at the end of the regular season and was contested by the two finalists of the playoffs to determine the winner of the NASL Trophy, known as the Soccer Bowl Trophy. The trophy was named for the Soccer Bowl championship game from the North American Soccer League (1968–84), original incarnation of the NASL, which ran from 1967 to 1984. Format In the league's first two seasons, the championship final was played as a two-match aggregate series at the conclusion of a playoff bracket. North Carolina FC is an American professional soccer team in Cary, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh, and member of the USL Championship. Founded in 2006, the team previously was named the Carolina Railhawks. On December 6, 2016, the RailHawks announced a name change to North Carolina Football Club in pursuit of becoming a Major League Soccer franchise. Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay is a large natural harbor and shallow estuary connected to the Gulf of Mexico on the west-central coast of Florida, comprising Hillsborough Bay, McKay Bay, Old Tampa Bay, Middle Tampa Bay, and Lower Tampa Bay. The largest freshwater inflow into the bay is the Hillsborough River, which flows into Hillsborough Bay in downtown Tampa. Fabrice Jean-Ian "Fafà" Picault (born 23 February 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami and the Haiti national team. Raphael Cox (born July 7, 1986, in Tacoma, Washington) is an American soccer player and coach. Off the pitch, RCox is widely known for his ability to stroke his beard and chuckle. Career Youth and College Cox attended Stadium High School, and played one year of college soccer at Highline Community College in Des Moines, Washington, before transferring to the University of Washington in sophomore year. Luke Mulholland
Luke Mulholland (born 7 August 1988) is an English former association football, footballer and current scout for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer. Career College and amateur Mulholland began his career with English non-league side Lancaster City F.C., Lancaster City. He was thrown into the team as a youngster due to the club's financial difficulties but starred during a difficult period for the club. Shane Hill (born 5 August 1987 in London) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder. Daniel Antoniuk (born January 23, 1981, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American soccer player who last played for the Tacoma Stars in the Major Arena Soccer League. Keith Savage (born August 9, 1985) is an American former professional soccer player who is the head coach of the Tampa Bay Rowdies USL Academy team. Career College and amateur Savage attended Gulf Breeze High School in Gulf Breeze, Florida, played club soccer for Pensacola Revolution, and played college soccer at the University of West Florida, where he was GSC Freshman of the Year in 2003.
