Enter the Haggis is a Canadian Celtic rock band based in Toronto. The band was founded in 1995 by Craig Downie, the only remaining original member in the lineup, which currently consists of Downie (highland bagpipes, vocals), Brian Buchanan (vocals, fiddle, guitar), Trevor Lewington (vocals, guitar), Mark Abraham (bass, vocals), and Bruce McCarthy (drums). For about a year, starting in late 2014, they recorded and performed under the name Jubilee Riots, and released their eighth studio album ''Penny Black'' under that name, before returning to the original name. History Formation and early years Craig Downie was born in Scotland and raised in Canada. He started playing bagpipes when he joined a pipe band at 12 years old. After pursuing an acting career in the early 1990s, Downie formed Enter the Haggis in Toronto in 1995 shortly before the band's first performance. ''Northampton'' is the 6th album and 2nd official live album for Enter the Haggis. It became available May 4, 2007. It is the third album on their current label, UFO Music (United for Opportunity), and was produced by the band and Zach McNees. The album was recorded entirely live at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Massachusetts on March 9 and 10, 2007. The band had performed at Iron Horse Music Hall several times in the past, and so could count on sold out shows. Four shows were scheduled, two each night. The first three shows featured identical set lists, which became the album tracks listed below. Since satisfactory recordings of all songs were obtained the first three shows, the band was able to play some other songs the fourth show. CDs were just sold at concert venues before the official release date of June 5, 2007. It is now available through usual channels, including the iTunes Store. Neil Dorfsman
Neil Dorfsman (born May 31, 1952) is an American sound engineer and record producer, best known for his work with Dire Straits, Bruce Hornsby, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney and Sting. He won Grammy Awards for Best Producer for Bruce Hornsby's '' Scenes from the Southside'' (1988) and Sting's '' ...Nothing Like the Sun'' (1987), a Grammy Award for Best Engineer for Dire Straits' '' Brothers in Arms'' (1985), as well as a nomination for Best Engineer for Dire Straits's ''Love Over Gold'' (1982). Further, he recorded two tracks on Sting's ''Brand New Day'' (1999), which won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. He mixed the East Village Opera Company's ''Olde School'', which received a Grammy Nomination for Best Classical Crossover Album in 2009. In 1988 and 1998, Dorfman won a TEC Award for Engineer of the Year.
