Snowy Fleet
Gordon Fleet (born 16 August 1945), known professionally as Snowy Fleet, is an English-born Australian drummer. The Easybeats Born Gordon Fleet, he formed The Easybeats at the Villawood Migrant Hostel as the drummer. The group consisted of Gordon (now performing as “Snowy”), Stevie Wright (vocals/originally from Leeds, England), Georgie Young (guitar/from Glasgow, Scotland), Harry Vanda (guitar), and Dick Diamonde (bass, both from the Netherlands). The Easybeats
The Easybeats were an Australian Rock music, rock band that formed in Sydney in late 1964. They enjoyed a level of success that in Australia rivalled The Beatles. They became the first Australian rock act to score an international hit, with the 1966 single "Friday on My Mind", as well as one of the few in Australia to foreground their original material. During their six-year run, they scored 15 top 40 hits in Australia, including "She's So Fine" and "Women (Make You Feel Alright)", with other No. 1 hits including "Friday on My Mind" and "Sorry (Easybeats song), Sorry". They broke up in 1969, and reformed for one tour in 1986. Singer Stevie Wright died in 2015 and rhythm guitarist George Young (rock musician), George Young died in 2017. Sorry (Easybeats Song)
"Sorry" is a 1966 song and single by Australian rock group The Easybeats, which was written by band members George Young and Stevie Wright. It peaked at #1 on the Australian Go-Set's National Top 40 in mid November 1966. It remained at #1 on the Australian Charts for 2 weeks in November 1966. Releases In addition to its 7" single release in October 1966, the song was issued on the ''Easyfever'' EP in September 1967, along with the tracks "Friday On My Mind", "Who'll Be the One" and "Made My Bed, Gonna Lie in It". It was also the lead track on the Easybeat's third and last LP ''Volume 3'', which they recorded in Australia, prior to moving to England. An adaptation by American alternative rock group The Three O'Clock appears on the album Sixteen Tambourines (1983) and has been featured in the live performances of the band in the 2013 tour. It was the third and final album from the group recorded in Australia before relocating to England. Arthur McBain is a British screen actor and children's author. He played Alex Myer in ITV's ''The Trouble with Maggie Cole'' and Snowy Fleet, in the ABC television series ''Friday On My Mind''. The Australian Broadcasting Company Pty. Ltd. was a company founded in Melbourne in 1924 with a capital of £A 100,000 by a consortium of entertainment interests, notably Farmer & Company, J. C.
