''Snowglobe'' is an EP by Jesca Hoop, self-released through Last Laugh records on March 7, 2011. It was recorded after the artist moved to Manchester, England, although the material was written largely prior to the move. It contains four new songs, supplemented by two acoustic renditions of previously released songs. Jessica "Jesca" Ada Hoop (born April 21, 1975) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, who writes and performs in diverse musical styles. She has released six studio albums of her own, as well as live, acoustic and dual albums with others. Biography Early life Hoop was born in Santa Rosa, California, to traditional Mormon parents Janette and Jack Dennis Hoop. She grew up singing hymns and folk tunes with her family in four-part harmony. At age 14, her parents separated, and two years later she broke away from her Mormon religion. Hoop described losing her faith as, "Now I feel free of it: I have faith in people". Hoop moved off the grid into the rural and wilderness areas of Northern California and Wyoming where she, "lived under a tree for a summer, in yurts, in cob dwellings, and in a chicken shack that I converted". ''Kismet'' (meaning "Destiny"), is the first studio album by musician Jesca Hoop, released on September 17, 2007 through RED Ink Records. The song "Love and Love Again" was co-written with David Baerwald while Stewart Copeland guests on the song "Seed Of Wonder." The song "Intelligentactile 101" was released prior to the album. According to Hoop, many of the songs on the album were "quite old." Rebecca Stephens (born 30 July 1982) is a singer, formerly with British band The Pipettes, where she was commonly known as RiotBecki.
