Snow Valley Ski Club
Snow Valley Ski Club is a ski area located in Edmonton, Alberta, near the Whitemud Freeway at 119 Street in Rainbow Valley. The resort functions as a not-for-profit organization. The slope caters primary to beginner skiers and snowboarders, with only 15% of the area designated as advanced. It has one pulse quad chairlift, one triple chairlift, and two magic carpets. Snow Valley also has a variety of features and man-made jumps in their beginner and advanced terrain parks. History Snow Valley was opened in 1961 by members of the ''Eskimo Ski Club''. The original lodge was built in 1972 with two rope tows. In 1981 a T-bar replaced one of the rope tows, and limited snow making was added to extend the ski season. Ski Snow Valley is a ski resort located in Minesing, Ontario, north of Barrie Ontario. It has 3 ski lifts and a snow tubing facility operating in the winter. In the summers, Snow Valley offers weddings, banquet and corporate events. Ski Snow Valley was named "best Ontario hill for kids" by ''Ski Canada Magazine'' in 2001. Operations Snow Valley has 3 chair lifts currently operating. A quad chair services the eastern side of the resort. Central to the chalet, a 6-person fixed-grip chairlift with a rolling carpet for easy use operates. Further west, a smaller 3-person chairlift services a terrain park and 3 other pistes. The ski resort runs snow machines principally in the start of the season, and grooms all runs daily. All runs (except for one) are lit with lights for night skiing. The resort is generally focused on beginner-level terrain and family recreation. Snow Valley Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in Running Springs, California, United States. Snow Valley is the longest continually operating ski resort in Southern California and is also one of three ski resorts in the San Bernardino National Forest. Originally named "Fish Camp" for the pond located in the area above the former chair 5, the site was developed into a roadside resort and lumber mill in the 1920s by the Swetkowich brothers. In the 1930s the slopes were developed for tobogganing and skiing by the Arrowhead Springs Corporation, which named the development Snow Valley. The resort featured one of the first overhead cable ski lifts. In 1940 the resort was purchased by Norwegian-American ski jump champion Johnny Elvrum, who expanded it. In 1974 W.R. Sauey became the owner of Snow Valley. His company the Nordic Group owned and operated Snow Valley.
