''Snooker 19'' is a 2019 sports video game developed by Lab42 and published by Ripstone Games, based on the cue sport snooker. The game was released on 17 April 2019 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the Nintendo Switch version coming out on 23 August 2019. All 128 players from the World Snooker Tour appear in the game, as do venues from all 26 tournaments, including Alexandra Palace and the Crucible Theatre. Gameplay ''Snooker 19'' includes all officially licensed tournaments from the 2018–19 snooker season. It features single-player, multiplayer and online multiplayer modes. The game featured full likenesses for all tour players, and the Q School qualification events for the main tour. 2018–19 Snooker Season
The 2018–19 snooker season was a series of professional snooker tournaments played between 10 May 2018 and 6 May 2019. The season was made up of ranking tournaments, non-ranking tournaments and variant tournaments. In total, 54 events were competed in the 2018–19 season, beginning with the pro–am 2018 Vienna Open, and ending with the 2019 World Snooker Championship. To be eligible to play in most tournaments, players had to have qualified to play on the World Snooker Tour, however, some wildcard former professional, and amateur players were eligible in certain competitions. The season also saw four events strictly for over 40s, as a part of the World Seniors Tour. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson and Judd Trump each won three ranking events with Mark Allen, Stuart Bingham and Kyren Wilson each winning twice. Mark James Williams (born 21 March 1975) is a Welsh professional snooker player who is a three-time World Champion, winning in 2000, 2003 and 2018. Often noted for his single-ball long potting ability, Williams has earned the nickname "The Welsh Potting Machine". Williams turned professional in 1992 and has been ranked the world number one player three times ( 1999–00, 2000–01 and 2002–03). Brendan Moore (snooker Referee)
Brendan Moore (born 17 February 1972, in Sheffield) is an English former professional snooker referee. Career Moore first refereed on the World Snooker Tour in 2005. Moore took charge of three World Snooker Championship finals, in 2014, 2018, and 2023. He was also the referee in the 2010 and 2013 UK Championship finals, as well as the 2012, 2015 and 2020 Masters finals. Moore has been in charge of ten tournament matches that have contained maximum breaks. The last before his retirement was at the 2023 World Snooker Championship final. He was also the referee featured in the video game Snooker 19. Following the 2023 World Snooker Championship final, Moore retired from snooker to become tournament director for Matchroom Pool. Neal Foulds
Neal Foulds (born 13 July 1963) is an English former professional snooker player and six-time tournament winner, including the 1986 International Open, the 1988 Dubai Masters and the 1992 Scottish Masters, as well as the invitational Pot Black in 1992. He was the runner up for the UK Championships in 1986, the British Open in 1987 and reached the semi finals of the Masters on three occasions, as well as the World Championship. After his retirement, Foulds became a commentator for the BBC and is currently part of the presenting team for ITV and Eurosport. Q School (snooker)
The Q School is an amateur snooker competition which serves as the qualification process for the World Snooker Tour. Overview The Q School was established in an attempt to streamline the qualification process for the World Snooker Tour. A series of play-offs are run every year before the season. Players pay a fixed entry fee to enter the play-off events, and there is no prize money. Each player who wins a quarter-final game qualifies for a two-year tour card on the Main Tour.
