Snohomish High School
Snohomish High School (SHS) is a secondary school located in the Snohomish School District, in Snohomish, Washington, United States. SHS, built for 1200 students, contains 1,565 9th–12th graders (as of 2022–23). The school serves primarily those students living north of the Snohomish River (nearby Glacier Peak High School, serving those students living south of the river). History Before SHS actually opened it was a courthouse with a small jail section underneath. SHS first opened in 1894 at the completion of the original A building. The school underwent many remodels through the 1980s, including changes to the B building. These changes removed the last vestiges of 'old' Snohomish High School, making the building completely modern. Among the changes made to the B building were the removal of its decades-old fixed wooden bleachers and over-painting of many student-painted murals from the 1960s and earlier. Earl Torgeson
Clifford Earl Torgeson (January 1, 1924 – November 8, 1990) was an American Major League Baseball player from Snohomish, Washington. A first baseman, he played on five teams for 15 years, from 1947 through 1961. He was known by his middle name, Earl, and his nickname was "The Earl of Snohomish", a nickname originally owned by Baseball Hall of Famer, Earl Averill, also from Torgeson's hometown. In 1950, Torgeson led the National League (NL) with 120 runs scored and in 1957, he led the American League (AL) with a .999 fielding average as a first baseman. Steve Hardin (Canadian Football)
Steve Hardin (born December 30, 1971) was a linebacker in the Canadian Football League, playing 5 seasons with the BC Lions. A graduate of University of Oregon, Hardin played in the WLAF with the Rhein Fire in 1996, and used this as a springboard to get a chance with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts (he played one game for them in 1996.) He signed with the Leos in 1998 and won the Grey Cup with them in 2000 and was an all-star in 2002. Hardin's 2003 season and career was cut short as a pre-season injury forced him to miss the entire season. Ricky Dale Fenney (born December 7, 1964) is an American former professional football running back in the National Football League (NFL). Jonathan Rodney Brockman (born March 20, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. He was the starting power forward and team captain for the University of Washington men's basketball team. He is the University of Washington's all-time leading rebounder and second-all-time leading scorer in University of Washington history.
