Snip En Snap
Snip en Snap (or, the ''Snip en Snap Revue'') were a Dutch cabaret act, consisting of Willy Walden and Piet Muijselaar, who performed songs and skits in drag and were active from 1937 to 1977. The act was conceived by Jacques van Tol, who borrowed the concept from Solser en Hesse ("Wip en Snip"). Walden and Muijselaar first appeared as the duo in 1937, on the AVRO radio show ''De bonte dinsdagavondtrein''. Initially planned as a one-time act – for Walden and Muijselaar had no interest in dressing up in women's clothing for the stage, but made an exception for radio – the show was so popular that AVRO engaged them through their agent/producer, Rene Sleeswijk, for a theater tour in which they were the main attraction; after a year the tour (known as the ''Sleeswijk Revue''), which had become more an act showcasing the duo, gained great popularity, and ran for forty years. Dorothea Margaretha "Teddy" Scholten (née van Zwieteren; 11 May 1926 – 8 April 2010) was a Dutch singer and television presenter. She is known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1959 with the song "Een beetje", representing the Netherlands. Career In 1950, Scholten was invited by The Coca-Cola Company to perform at a show in the United States. She was one of the first Dutch popular music artists to perform in the United States. In 1959, she won the ''Nationaal Songfestival'' 1959 with the song "Een beetje", written by Willy van Hemert and Dick Schallies. This gave her the right to represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1959, held in Cannes, France. Dick Rienstra
Dick Rienstra (1941 – 2021) was a Dutch singer and actor. Rienstra began his musical career in a local group, The Double S Combo, where he sang and played guitar, clarinet, and saxophone. In 1960 he debuted on the radio in a KRO program, and in 1962 on the TV, in a VARA talent show. He moved to Amsterdam in 1963 and got a job in a musical comedy production as a singer and an actor in skits, and in 1966 signed with the ''Snip en Snap Revue''. With the Amsterdams Volkstoneel he performed in the musical '' De Jantjes'', and later formed a musical duo called De Jantjes as well. He was a contender in the preliminaries for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977, and after that performed in the theater and in minor roles on television.
