Snart Skiner Poseidon
"Snart skiner poseidon" is a song by Joel Alme released in 2009, as the official anthem of Swedish football club IFK Göteborg. The song has been the club's entrance music since 2009, having replaced the previous anthem " Heja Blåvitt". The song is a remake of "A Young Summer's Youth", off Alme's debut album, but with new lyrics. The melody had also previously been used in the song "Utan personlig insats" by Hästpojken, a band Alme was a member of between 2007 and 2008. Background Before the start of the 2009 IFK Göteborg season, a debate among IFK supporters had started regarding a possible replacement of the then current anthem "Heja Blåvitt". Many different existing songs were proposed, from artists such as Maia Hirasawa, Nationalteatern and Troublemakers, until "Snart skiner Poseidon" was written by Joel Alme and posted on YouTube in mid-March 2009. Joel Alme
Joel Alme (born 1980) is a musician and artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. Alme released his debut album ''A Master of Ceremonies'' on 22 April 2008 with "Queen's Corner" being the single. In 2010 he released his second studio album, called ''Waiting for the Bells''. He is the former lead singer for Spring in Paris. When Alme received grant money from the Swedish Arts Council (Kulturrådet) for his second album ''Waiting for the Bells''. Regarding the grant money, Alme stated that "it enabled me to use a real strings orchestra and I could spend more time in a very good studio with a good producer, Mattias Glavå." "You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical ''Carousel''. In the second act of the musical, Nettie Fowler, the cousin of the protagonist Julie Jordan, sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" to comfort and encourage Julie when her husband, Billy Bigelow, the male lead, stabs himself with a knife whilst trying to run away after attempting a robbery with his mate Jigger and dies in her arms. The song is reprised in the final scene to encourage a graduation class of which Louise (Billy and Julie's daughter) is a member. The now invisible Billy, who has been granted the chance to return to Earth for one day in order to redeem himself, watches the ceremony and is able to silently motivate Louise and Julie to join in with the song. Allsvenskan (; en, the All-Swedish, also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan, en, the Football All-Swedish) is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. Erik Magnus Niva, (born 28 November 1978) is a Swedish sportsjournalist for Sportbladet. He also is a studio expert for VIASAT Fotboll. Career Nivas first journalistic work was to cover the sled dog races for the Swedish championships for Norrbottens-Kuriren. Gamla Ullevi
Gamla Ullevi () is a football stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, that opened on 5 April 2009. The stadium replaced the city's previous main football stadium, also called Gamla Ullevi, and is the home ground of GAIS, IFK Göteborg and Örgryte IS. It is also the national stadium for the Sweden women's national football team. The new stadium was built on the ground of the now-demolished old stadium. The construction of the stadium was surrounded by controversy, regarding the cost of the project, the alleged low standard of the finished stadium, as well as its name.
