The Transitional Presidential Council (TPC; ; ) is a temporary body constituted by the Council of Ministers on 12 April 2024 and sworn in at the National Palace on 25 April to exercise the powers and duties of the president of Haiti either until an elected president is inaugurated or until 7 February 2026, whichever comes first. Background The gradual disintegration of Haitian state institutions during the Haitian crisis led to calls for acting prime minister Ariel Henry to step aside and surrender the ''de facto'' head of state functions. The demands were led by Jimmy "Barbecue" Chérizier, a former police officer who heads a coalition of gangs in Haiti, and Guy Philippe, a former senator and convict. Michel Patrick Boisvert () is a Haitian civil servant and politician who served as the interim Prime Minister of Haiti from 25 February to 3 June 2024. The Transitional Presidential Council, inaugurated on 25 April, has the power to replace him, and did so on 3 June 2024 after it appointed Garry Conille as Prime Minister. Boisvert has served as Minister of Economy and Finance since 2020, initially in the cabinets of Joseph Jouthe, Claude Joseph, and Ariel Henry. Boisvert previously served as director-general of the Ministry of Economy and Finance from 2018 to 2020. Garry Conille (; born 26 February 1966) is a Haitian academic, development worker, politician, and author. He served as the acting prime minister of Haiti from 3 June to 11 November 2024. He previously served as the Prime Minister from 2011 to 2012, submitting his resignation on 24 February 2012, and being officially succeeded by Laurent Lamothe on 16 May 2012. On 28 May 2024, Haiti's transition council tapped Conille to return to the role as the Caribbean nation works to restore stability and take back control from violent gangs. Dominique Dupuy (born on March 23, 1990) is a Haitian diplomat and politician who was Minister of Foreign Affairs, Religious Affairs, and Haitians Living Abroad from June 12 to 16 November 2024. Early life Dominique Dupuy was born in Cap-Haitien in 1990. She attended Vanier College in Montreal before graduating from McGill University in Montreal in 2012, obtaining a bachelor's degree in international development. She had an exchange semester in Lancaster University in 2011. Career In 2020, Dupuy was nominated by president Jovenel Moïse to serve as the Haitian permanent representative to UNESCO in Paris.
