Smederevo Hall ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Дворана Смедерево, Dvorana Smederevo, separator=" / ") is an indoor arena in Smederevo, Serbia. It was finished in June 2009, for 2009 Summer Universiade. The hall is located within the Smederevo Sports Center, Smederevo SC. It is the home arena of domestic KK Smederevo 1953, OK Smederevo Carina, RK Smederevo as well as other sports clubs from Smederevo. Smederevo
Smederevo ( sr-Cyrl, Смедерево, ) is a list of cities in Serbia, city and the administrative center of the Podunavlje District in eastern Serbia. It is situated on the right bank of the Danube, about downstream of the Serbian capital, Belgrade. According to the 2022 census, the city has a population of 59,261, with 97,930 people living in its administrative area. Its history starts in the 1st century BC, after the conquest of the Roman Empire, when there existed a settlement by the name of Vinceia. 2009 Summer Universiade
The 2009 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXV Summer Universiade, was celebrated in Belgrade, Serbia from July 1 to 12, 2009. The event has also been organised by a range of co-host cities mostly in Vojvodina (Serbian Autonomous Province), close to Belgrade. It was the largest sporting event ever to be organised by the city. At this Universiade the biggest star was the Russian rhythmic gymnast Evgeniya Kanaeva, who won 5 gold medals.
