''Smashing the Vice Trust'' is a 1937 American crime film, crime drama film directed by Melville Shyer and starring Willy Castello, Veola Vonn and Selmer Jackson. Marketed as an exploitation film, it was produced and distributed by the Poverty Row studio Willis Kent Productions. Castello later reprised the role for another Kent film ''Confessions of a Vice Baron'' (1942).Pitts p.204 Plot Criminal 'Lucky' Lombardi notices that profits are down in his vice empire and has him henchman begin a campaign of recruiting of kidnapping pretty high school girls to work for him as prostitutes, even as he backs a campaign to crack down on vice targeted at his rivals. Paul Parry (actor)
Paul Ian Parry (born 19 August 1980) is a Welsh former footballer who is the assistant manager alongside Marc Ingles in the Ardal South East side Chepstow Town. He is a former Wales international, and played for Hereford United, Cardiff City, Preston North End and Shrewsbury Town during a 16-year professional career. Personal life Parry was born in Chepstow. As a youngster he attended Chepstow Comprehensive School. Parry suffers from a severe fear of flying ( aviophobia) which, like other footballers such as Dennis Bergkamp, has caused problems during his career due to his inability to sometimes travel with the Wales team to far-away countries. Edward Claude Cassidy (May 4, 1923 – December 6, 2012) was an American jazz and rock drummer who was one of the founders of the rock group Spirit in 1967. Biography Cassidy was born in Harvey, Illinois, a south suburb of Chicago on May 4, 1923. His family moved to Bakersfield, California in 1931. Cassidy began his career as a professional musician in 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and after his discharge held many jobs before becoming a full-time musician again. At one time in the late 1940s, Cassidy played 282 consecutive one-nighters in 17 states. He worked in show bands, Dixieland, and country and western bands, and on film soundtracks, as well as having a brief stint with the San Francisco Opera. In 1950, Cassidy enrolled at college to get a musical teaching credential. Maude Fealy (born Maude Mary Hawk; March 4, 1883 – November 9, 1971) was an American stage and silent film actress whose career survived into the sound era. Early life Maude Mary Hawk was born on March 4, 1883 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of actress Margaret Fealey and James Hawk. In 1896, she made her debut at the Elitch Theatre playing various children's roles. Her first appearance was during the week of July 19 in Henry Churchill de Mille's ''The Lost Paradise''.
