SmartFrame is an online image delivery service and form of digital restrictions management that attempts to prevent viewers from downloading or copying the images it serves, and to discourage them from taking screenshots of such images. It is sold by SmartFrame Technologies, founded in 2015, who describe its methodology as "image streaming". The DRM can be bypassed by end users. Digital rights management (DRM) is the management of legal access to digital content. Various tools or technological protection measures, such as access control technologies, can restrict the use of proprietary hardware and copyrighted works. Tate is an institution that houses, in a network of four art galleries, the United Kingdom's national collection of British art, and international modern and contemporary art.
