The Small and Medium Business Administration (, SMBA) was one of a small and medium industry organizations in South Korea and is run under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The headquarters are in Seo District, Daejeon. From July 2017, Ministry of SMEs and Startups succeeds the organisation. Ministry Of Trade, Industry And Energy
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) is a ministry under the Government of South Korea. It is concerned with regulating some economic policy, especially with regard to the industrial and energy sectors. The ministry also works to encourage foreign investment in Korea. The current minister is Lee Chang-yang. The ministry began in 1948 as the Ministry of Commerce in the First Republic. In 1993 it was merged with the Ministry of Energy, established in 1977. A year later the ministry changed its name to Ministry of Trade and Energy. In 1998 it transferred trade negotiation duties to the foreign ministry changing its name to Ministry of Industry and Energy. Seo District (Seo-gu) is a gu ("district") of Daejeon, South Korea. Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall is also located there. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (중소벤처기업부, 中小벤처企業部) is a ministry of the Republic of Korea, established in July 2017 by the Moon Jae-in government. It succeeds the former Small and Medium Business Administration (중소기업청, 中小企業廳). The headquarters are located in Sejong City, Sejong. As of February 2021, Lee Young, a member of the National Assembly and People Power Party, has been appointed as the South Korean Minister of SMEs and Startups.
