The Ministry of Defence of Slovakia (, MO SR) is responsible for the planning and carrying-out of defence policy. It is the direct successor of the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defence. Ľubomír Galko
Ľubomír Galko (; born 14 February 1968) is a Slovakia politician. He has served as a Member of the National Council of Slovakia since 2023, having previously served as an MP from 2011 to 2020. Galko served as the Minister of Defence of Slovakia between 2010 and 2011. Early life Galko was born on 14 February 1968 in the village of Klieština in Považská Bystrica District. He studied at the Mathematics and Physics Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava from 1986 to 1991. Galko lives in Stupava, a town near Bratislava. Political career Galko was among the founders of the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party, being one of the first vice-chairmen of the party. Martin Sklenár
Martin Sklenár (born 15 July 1980) is a Slovak civil servant who served as minister of defence of Slovakia from May until October 2023. Early life and education Sklenár graduated from Matej Bel University in 2003, studying international relations. Jaroslav Naď (born 21 March 1981) is a Slovak politician who served as Minister of Defence between March 2020 and May 2023, as a nominee of OĽaNO. He specialises in national security issues and previously worked with Globsec. Naď currently serves as a deputy chairman of the Democrats. Peter Gajdoš (9 April 1959) is a Slovak retired three star general and politician who served as the minister of defence from 2016 to 2020. Biography Peter Gajdoš was born on 9 April 1959 in Nitra. He studied at the military school in Banská Bystrica and the Land Forces Military Academy in Vyškov and the Frunze Military Academy in Moscow. Iveta Radičová (; ; born 7 December 1956) is a Slovak sociologist and former politician who served as prime minister of Slovakia from 2010 to 2012.
