Slocum is an unincorporated community in southeastern Anderson County, Texas, United States. According to the ''Handbook of Texas'', the community had a population of 198 in 2018. It is located within the Palestine, Texas micropolitan area. Slocum is notable as the site of what is known as the Slocum massacre, an unprovoked attack by a large mob of whites on what was then a majority-black community on July 29–30, 1910.
