Slingshot (band)
Slingshot is a disco/ dance music band from Detroit, Michigan. Its members include Jack Tann, Greg Sawton, David Van DePitte and John Lewis. Their one and only chart entry was a 1983 cover version of a medley of Steely Dan's song " Do It Again" and Michael Jackson's No. 1 hit single " Billie Jean", originally done in the same year by Italo disco studio project Clubhouse. This track (which is listed on the Rhino Records album ''Billboard Top Dance Hits 1983'' as "Do It Again Medley with Billie Jean") hit No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart in August 1983. Disco
Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, brass and horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars. "Tour de France" is a song by German electronic band Kraftwerk. It was first issued in early August 1983, peaking at number 22 in the United Kingdom singles chart since 6 August. It is notable for the use of sampled voices and mechanical sounds associated with cycling that were used to supplement a simple electro-percussion pattern – an approach Kraftwerk had used on earlier tracks such as "Metal on Metal" (from '' Trans-Europe Express'') and "Numbers" (from '' Computer World''). Kathy Ann Kosins is an American singer specializing in jazz and R&B; she is also an ASCAP award-winning songwriter and modern abstractionist painter. Kosins has recorded several CDs under her own name and was first known as a singer of soul, rock, and pop having worked extensively with the bands Was (Not Was), Slingshot and recording artist Michael Henderson. In more recent years, she has become an internationally known jazz singer; as a multi-media artist she also incorporates her painting into those live presentations. "You Shook Me All Night Long" is a song by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, from the album ''Back in Black''. The song also reappeared on their later album ''Who Made Who''. It is AC/DC's first single with Brian Johnson as the lead singer, replacing Bon Scott who died of alcohol poisoning in February 1980. AC/DC (stylised as ACϟDC) are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young.
