Slevik IBK
Slevik Innebandyklubb (founded 20 February 1989) is a floorball club from Onsøy in Fredrikstad, Norway. History Slevik IBK is the oldest floorball club. It was started in 1988 by a group of friends, but the official foundation is set to February 20, 1989. The first training was held on Slevik primary school, but it soon became too small compared to the number of athletes, so when the club moved to Gaustad Hall at Manstad. Where the club has lived up to it was built a new hall on Hurrød School in Pomeroy. Club colors have also changed over time, and because of a small accident when an order was the first color pink. Actually, it was ordered red hockey jerseys from Canada, but instead were sent pink. This was received with a smile and leaving the color set. Then changed the color to yellow in 1995 to be in line to school color to Slevik primary before it was again changed to black in 2002. Floorball
Floorball (also known by other names) is a sport played with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. It is played indoors with sticks and a hollow plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). As of 2019, there were about 377,000 registered floorball players worldwide, up from around 300,000 in 2014. Events include an annual Champions Cup, EuroFloorball Cup and EuroFloorball Challenge for club teams and the biennial World Floorball Championships with separate divisions for men and women. Onsøy
Onsøy is a peninsula and a former municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre was Gressvik. History The parish of ''Onsø'' was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). A part of Onsøy with 170 inhabitants was moved to the neighboring municipality Fredrikstad on 1 January 1968. On 1 January 1994 the rest of Onsøy was incorporated into Fredrikstad. Prior to the merger Onsøy had a population of 12.923. Etymology The Old Norse form of the name was ''Óðinsøy''. The first element is the genitive case of the name of the god Odin, the last element is ''øy'' meaning 'island'. The former island was later turned into a peninsula because of post-glacial rebound. Onsøy Church Onsøy Church (''Onsøy kirke'') was built in 1877. The architect was Henrik Thrap-Meyer. The church is of Gothic Revival style and constructed of brick with has 375 seats. Fredrikstad (; previously ''Frederiksstad''; literally "Fredrik's Town") is a List of cities in Norway, city and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Østfold Counties of Norway, county, Norway. Tippeligaen
Eliteserien () is a professional association football league in Norway and the highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches (playing each other home and away). Most games are played on Sunday evenings. Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as Norgesserien (), and the first season was the 1937–38 season.
