''Slam'' () is a 2016 Italian romantic comedy film directed by Andrea Molaioli, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Nick Hornby. It premiered at the Torino Film Festival on 20 November 2016 before receiving a theatrical release in Italy on 23 March 2017. It was acquired by Netflix for international distribution and released on the platform in April 2017. Premise Samuele is a 16-year-old skateboarder who idolizes Tony Hawk and dreams of moving to California. These plans are uprooted when he meets Alice. ''Slam'' is a novel written by British author Nick Hornby, published in 2007. The book's main theme is teenage pregnancy and it is written from the perspective of a teenager, Sam. The book has a Fantasy element: The protagonist repeatedly has prophetic dreams in which he is projected months or years forward into his future, finding himself in a radically different life situation and having to piece out how his life has changed (or is going to change) - without letting the people around his future self notice his ignorance. Anthony Frank Hawk (born May 12, 1968), nicknamed Birdman, is an American professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and the owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse.
