Skyz Metro FM
Skyz Metro FM is a commercial radio station based in the metropolitan province of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Description The station began broadcasting in September 2016 in Bulawayo on FM 100.3 MHz and further at a 60 km - 80 km radius around the city, making it the first radio station for and broadcasting from Zimbabwe's second largest city since the country gained independence in 1980. In 2020, Skyz Metro FM was reported to be on a mission to expand its coverage to the greater parts of Matabeleland region and is now accessible in areas including Gwanda, Filabusi, Fort Rixon, Avoca, Khami, Esibomvu, Shangani, Matopo, Lochard, Mulungwane, Nyamandlovu, Redbank, Greystone, Collen Bawn and Ntabazinduna to mention a few. Bulawayo
Bulawayo (, ; ) is the second largest city in Zimbabwe, and the largest city in the country's Matabeleland region. The city's population is disputed; the 2022 census listed it at 665,940, while the Bulawayo City Council claimed it to be about 1.2 million. Bulawayo covers an area of in the western part of the country, along the Matsheumhlope River. Along with the capital Harare, Bulawayo is one of two cities in Zimbabwe that are also Provinces of Zimbabwe, provinces. Khulumani FM, also known as KFM95.0 is a regional radio station that broadcasts from the city of Bulawayo in Matabeleland region. In January 2018, the information ministry under the late former minister, Simon Khaya Moyo announced the launch of the new radio station in Zimbabwe’s second largest city and the station was successfully launched on March 2, 2018, becoming Zimbabwe’s first state owned regional radio station, only to be followed by the Gweru based 95.8 Central Radio in July of the same year. It caters for the audiences in the Bulawayo metropolitan province and parts of Matabeleland region within a 60 km radius. The station is based in ZBC's Montrose Studios in Bulawayo.
