Skyscraper (soundtrack)
''Skyscraper – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'' is the film score to the 2018 film of the same name, written and composed by Steve Jablonsky. The score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with an orchestra conducted by Alastair King. Additional mixing was done at Arata Music Studios. The soundtrack was digitally released on July 13, 2018 by Milan Records with the physical soundtrack being released later on August 3, 2018. Background Steve Jablonsky was hired to score the film, replacing Thurber's frequent composer, Theodore Shapiro. For the basis of the score, Jablonsky worked with traditional orchestra and blended looped guitar riffs which consisted of both acoustic and electric. He did this to make the film more realistic and gritty, avoiding the notion of a hero-esque theme. As for the character of Botha, Jablonsky discarded the use of an orchestra to represent the villain. Steve Jablonsky (born October 9, 1970) is an American composer for film, television, and video games, best known for his musical scores in the ''Transformers'' film series, ''Desperate Housewives'', and '' The Sims 3''. Some of his frequent collaboration partners include film directors Michael Bay and Peter Berg, and fellow composer Hans Zimmer. Early life Jablonsky's mother was born in a Japanese internment camp. He went to the University of California, Berkeley for college and studied computer science at first, but switched to music composition a year later. After graduation, he became an intern at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions after cold calling the studio to ask if they needed any help. Theodore Michael Shapiro ( ; born September 29, 1971) is an American composer best known for his film scores. He is a frequent collaborator of directors Ben Stiller, Paul Feig, Jay Roach, Karyn Kusama, and Rawson Marshall Thurber, and won the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series for his work on Stiller’s series '' Severance''. Frightened Rabbit
Frightened Rabbit were a Scottish indie rock band from Selkirk, formed in 2003. Initially a solo project for vocalist and guitarist Scott Hutchison, the final lineup of the band consisted of Hutchison, his brother Grant (drums), Billy Kennedy (guitar, bass), Andy Monaghan (guitar, keyboards), and Simon Liddell (guitar). From 2004, the band were based in Glasgow. Frightened Rabbit's first studio album, '' Sing the Greys'', was recorded by the Hutchison brothers and Billy Kennedy, released on independent label Hits the Fan in 2006. James Nicholas Commons (born 22 October 1988) is a British singer and songwriter, based in New Cross, London. Early life and education Commons was born in Bristol, England, but was raised, in part, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Bryce Jacobs (born Bryson Kenneth Jacobs) is an Australian composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, most famous in the composing world for his style that uses classical orchestral techniques and electronica elements, but highly infused with guitar and vocal textures. Early life and career After completing a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Jacobs returned 18 months later to complete a master's degree in composition. As he started learning the stylistic standards of both classic orchestral, jazz, and rock, he went on to design, and build, a new style of guitar. Alastair King
Alastair King (born 1967) is a British composer and conductor, perhaps best known for his musical contributions to film and television. He frequently collaborates with composers Charlie Mole, Geoff Zanelli, Nicholas Hooper and Rupert Gregson-Williams by either conducting for them or acting as an orchestrator or both. Biography King studied music at Bath College of Higher Education, graduating in 1991. He then undertook postgraduate study at Birmingham University and the University of Kansas.
