Skymaster Airlines was a cargo airline based in Manaus, Brazil. It operated charter cargo services in Brazil and other countries in the Americas. History The airline was established on 30 November 1995 and started operations in 1997. On February 19, 2014, Skymaster along with BETA Cargo were fined by CADE (Brazilian antitrust court) a combined 83 million reais (US$35 million), for running a cartel that hampered competition and drove up bid prices of procurements by the country's state-owned postal service Correios. Skymaster Air Taxi
Atlantic North Airlines was a Vermont-based commuter carrier linking several cities in New England and New Jersey; the airline existed from March to August 1993. History Atlantic North was formed through the acquisition of SkyMaster Air Taxi of Laconia, New Hampshire, in March 1993. Howard Dean, then governor of Vermont, cut the ribbon at the airlirline's grand opening at Rutland State Airport. The company's four owners were Stephen Cotter, David Mosher, Michael Mole, and Mark Logan. SkyMaster was itself formed in the mid-1980s and operated charter and air taxi services. Its initial route linked Laconia with Boston. Eventually SkyMaster served cities in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The carrier's operations were short-lived and Atlantic North ceased all flights in August 1993, and filed for bankruptcy in September 1993. The Cessna Skymaster is an American twin-engine civil utility aircraft built in a push-pull configuration. Its engines are mounted in the nose and rear of its pod-style fuselage. Twin booms extend aft of the wings to the vertical stabilizers, with the rear engine between them. Cessna O-2 Skymaster
The Cessna O-2 Skymaster (nicknamed "Oscar Deuce") is a military version of the Cessna 337 Super Skymaster, used for forward air control (FAC) and psychological operations (PSYOPS) by the US military between 1967 and 2010. Design and development In 1966, the United States Air Force (USAF) commissioned Cessna to build a military variant of the Model 337 Skymaster to supplement the Cessna O-1 Bird Dog in the role of forward air control. Both the civilian and military Skymasters were low-cost twin-engine piston-powered aircraft, with one engine in the nose of the aircraft and a second in the rear of the fuselage. The push-pull configuration provided centerline thrust, allowing simpler operation than the low-wing mounting of most twin-engine light aircraft, and allowed a high wing to be used, providing clear observation below and behind the aircraft. Douglas C-54 Skymaster
The Douglas C-54 Skymaster is a four-engined transport aircraft used by the United States Army Air Forces in World War II and the Korean War. Like the Douglas C-47 Skytrain derived from the DC-3, the C-54 Skymaster was derived from a civilian airliner, the Douglas DC-4. Besides transport of cargo, the C-54 also carried presidents, prime ministers, and military staff. Dozens of variants of the C-54 were employed in a wide variety of non-combat roles such as air-sea rescue, scientific and military research, and missile tracking and recovery. During the Berlin Airlift it hauled coal and food supplies to West Berlin. After the Korean War it continued to be used for military and civilian uses by more than 30 countries. The Douglas DC-4 is an American four-engined (piston), propeller-driven airliner developed by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Military versions of the plane, the C-54 and R5D, served during World War II, in the Berlin Airlift and into the 1960s. From 1945, many civil airlines operated the DC-4 worldwide. A Kamikaze (also known as a Double-Arm Ranger, The Apollo, or the Skymaster, scissors and Sky Flyer) is a pendulum amusement ride, usually found as a traveling ride, with some examples found at amusement parks. The ride is manufactured by FarFabbri & Sartori, and first made its debut in 1984. Since then, over 150 Kamikazes have been sold. Design and operation The ride consists of a single stationary tower, supporting two 16-passenger gondolas on rotating arms. Passengers are arranged in rows of two, with the first four rows facing in one direction, and the other four facing opposite. During the ride, passengers are swung backwards and forwards to build up momentum, before the gondola performs several inversions. The two gondolas are connected to the motor so that they swing simultaneously; with one arm rotating clockwise while the other rotates counterclockwise.
