Skizz
''Skizz'' was a comic strip in '' 2000 AD'' which appeared in three installments across more than a decade. It was written by Alan Moore and drawn by Jim Baikie. Two sequels appeared some years later, written and drawn by Baikie. Plot Skizz, an alien interpreter, crash lands on Earth and his ship self-destructs to stop it from falling into the wrong hands. He is saved from the military (led by a thuggish South African named Van Owen - an apparent reference to Warren Zevon's ''Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner'') - by a young girl called Roxy. Jim Baikie
James George Baikie (; 28 February 1940 – 29 December 2017) was a Scottish comics artist best known for his work with Alan Moore on '' Skizz''. He was also a musician. Biography Baikie served as a Corporal with the Royal Air Force in 1956–1963 before joining a printing company. Baikie joined Morgan-Grampian studio as an artist in 1964 and was an illustrator for the National Savings Committee in 1965–1966. Balkie was a bass guitarist in bands ''James Fenda and the Vulcans'' and ''Compass'' among others. Baikie began his comics career illustrating the romance comic '' Valentine'' for Fleetway. Over the next twenty years, he built a solid reputation working for TV comics such as ''Look-in'', including adaptations of ''The Monkees'' and ''Star Trek'', all scripted by Angus Allan. Alan Moore
Alan Moore (born 18 November 1953) is an English author known primarily for his work in comic books including ''Watchmen'', ''V for Vendetta'', ''The Ballad of Halo Jones'', Swamp Thing (comic book), ''Swamp Thing'', ''Batman: The Killing Joke'', ''Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?'' and ''From Hell''. He is widely recognised among his peers and critics as one of the best comics writer, comic book writers in the English language. In comics in the United States, a trade paperback (shortened: TPB or trade) is a collection of stories originally published in comic books, reprinted in book format, usually presenting either a complete miniseries, a story arc from a single title, or a series of stories with an arc or common theme. A trade paperback may reproduce the stories either at the same size in which they were originally presented (in comic book format), in a smaller " digest-sized" format, or a larger-than-original hardcover. Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner
"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" is a song composed by Warren Zevon and David Lindell and performed by Zevon. It was included on Zevon's 1978 album ''Excitable Boy'', and while never released as a single became a fan favorite. It was the last song he performed in front of an audience, during an October 2002 appearance on '' The Late Show with David Letterman'', before his death in 2003.
