''Skid Row'' is the debut studio album by American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Skid Row (American band), Skid Row, released on January 24, 1989, by Atlantic Records. After signing with manager Doc McGhee, Skid Row signed with Atlantic and began recording its debut. The album was recorded in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with producer Michael Wagener, and received mixed reviews upon its release. The band toured behind the album mainly as an opening act, supporting Bon Jovi and Aerosmith in 1989–1990. The album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and was certified RIAA Certification, 5× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1995 for shipping five million copies in the United States. It generated four singles: "Youth Gone Wild", "18 and Life", "I Remember You (Skid Row song), I Remember You" and "Piece of Me", all of which were accompanied by music videos and received heavy rotation on MTV. Skid Row (American Band)
Skid Row is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Their current lineup comprises bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill and drummer Rob Hammersmith. The group achieved commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with its first two albums ''Skid Row (Skid Row album), Skid Row'' (1989) and ''Slave to the Grind'' (1991) certified multi-platinum, the latter of which reached number one on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Matt Fallon (born Matthew Frankel; September 30, 1965) is a heavy metal singer best known for his work with Skid Row and Anthrax. Early life Fallon moved to central New Jersey at the age of eight with his parents and younger brother, and by 15 he was playing in a neighborhood garage band with drummer Paul Monroe (aka Paul Schneiderman) who later played with the Los Angeles–based band, XYZ. Career Inspired by bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and AC/DC, Fallon fronted several local acts in the early 1980s including Steel Fortune where he teamed up with guitar player Dave Sabo. Gigging is the practice of hunting fish or small game with a Trident, gig or similar multi-pronged spear. Rush was a Canadian rock music, rock band formed in Toronto in 1968 that consisted primarily of Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, keyboards), Alex Lifeson (guitars) and Neil Peart (drums, percussion). Rob Affuso
Robert James Affuso (born March 1, 1963) is an American heavy metal drummer best known as a member of the band Skid Row from 1987 to 1996. Affuso is currently the band leader and drummer for Soulsystem, a band he formed while touring with Skid Row in 1992. He also formed an entertainment company Soulsystem Orchestras Inc. in New York. Rachel Bolan
Rachel Bolan (born James Richard Southworth, February 9, 1964) is an American musician, best known as the bassist and main songwriter of the metal band Skid Row. Career Bolan was born in 1964 to Aida and Hubert Southworth. He grew up in Toms River, New Jersey. The youngest of four children, Bolan is half Portuguese. When he was in junior high school he began considering a career in music after drummer Damian Cordisco asked him to play bass in his band. Bolan's first gig was in 1978 at Manasquan High School.
