Skiadas
Skiadas () is a small mountain village in the Preveza regional unit in northwestern Greece. It is part of the Louros municipal unit. It is built upon the mountain Baldenezi, at above sea level. Skiadas took that name because according to the Greek mythology the Greek God of the dead, Hades, would sometimes come out of his underworld (which its supposed entrance is only a few miles away from Skiadas at the nearby Serziana village) to seek for some daily light. However, because he was sensitive to sunlight, he preferred to stay near Skiadas where sun does not shine before 11 AM and there is plenty of shadow (because of a high mountain in front of the village). "Skiadas" means "the shadow of Hades" (in Greek: Σκιά του Άδη). Louros
Louros () is a town and a former municipality in the Preveza regional unit, Epirus, Greece. It was the center of a kaza of the Preveza Sanjak under the Ottoman Empire. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Preveza, of which it is a municipal unit. The seat of the municipality was the small town of Louros (pop. 1,769 in 2021). The area of the municipal unit is 176.075 km2, with a population of 4,581 people (2011). The town and municipal unit are named after the river Louros which flows just south of the town. Until recently, the Louros valley was swampy, but in modern times the marshes were drained and are now used for the production of olives, oranges, lemons and tomatoes. Besides the town of Louros itself, the largest communities in the municipality are Oropós (pop. 1,127), Stefáni (379), Vrysoúla (149), Áno Ráchi (96), and Kotsanópoulo (200). Preveza
Preveza (, ) is a city in the region of Epirus (region), Epirus, northwestern Greece, located on the northern peninsula of the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf. It is the capital of the Preveza (regional unit), regional unit of Preveza, which is the southern part of the region of Epirus (region), Epirus. The Aktio-Preveza Undersea Tunnel, Aktio-Preveza Immersed Tunnel –the first, and so far only, undersea tunnel in Greece– was completed in 2002. The 1,570 m (5,150 ft) long immersed tunnel connects Preveza in the north, to Actium, Aktio of western Acarnania to the south. The ruins of the ancient city of Nicopolis lie north of Preveza. Preveza (regional Unit)
Preveza () is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Epirus region. Its capital is the town of Preveza. Geography The regional unit of Preveza is located northwest of the Ambracian Gulf. The Ionian Sea lies to the west. The terrain is mostly hilly. The mountains of Xerovouni are in the far northeast. Rivers include the Louros in the east, and Acheron in the north. Its climate is typically Mediterranean with hot dry summers and cool winters. Snow is not uncommon in winter at higher elevations. Hades

Souli
Souli () is a municipality in Epirus, northwestern Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town of Paramythia. Name and history The origin of the name Souli is uncertain. In the earliest historical text about Souli, written by Christoforos Perraivos in 1803, an oral tradition of the locals is recorded. According to this, the first settlers of Souli were shepherds who came from a village called Gardiki trying to avoid the Ottoman oppression. A certain Muslim ("Turk" in the text) named Soulis attempted to expel the early Souliotes from there but the latter resisted with arms. In the battle they killed Soulis and since then the area was named Souli. However, Fourikis (1934) goes as far as proposing that Perraivos invented this explanation himself. The most commonly accepted theory in contemporary historiography, as suggested by Fourikis (1934), states that ''Souli'' derives from the Albanian term ''sul'', which means ''"mountain peak"'', while it may also be interpreted as ''"w ...
