''Skeletons'' is the third studio album by American horror punk musician Wednesday 13. It was released on May 20, 2008, available exclusively through Hot Topic locations in the United States, and in the United Kingdom on by DR2 Records, a subdivision of Demolition Records Demolition Records was a British record label based in Jarrow, England, specialising in heavy metal and rock, with many international artists. It was founded in 2000 by brothers Ged and Eric Cook. There were also distribution offices in Frankfurt, .... It has been described as having a heavier and darker tone than previous efforts. Joseph Michael Poole (born August 12, 1976), better known by his stage name Wednesday 13, is an American singer and musician. Apart from his solo career, he was the frontman of the horror punk/ heavy metal band Murderdolls and has also played in several other bands, including Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, Bourbon Crow, and Gunfire 76. Career Psycho Opera and Maniac Spider Trash Poole's musical career began in 1992 when he played guitar in the band Mizery, which later became Psycho Opera, with Abby Normal (guitar), Jeff Washam (drums), Michael Patrick (bass guitar) and Todd Cage (lead vocals). Poole left the band to form Maniac Spider Trash as lead vocalist, with Normal (guitar) and Patrick (bass guitar), joined by Sicko Zero on drums. Poole fronted the band from 1992 to 1996. Horror punk is a music genre that mixes punk rock and 1950s-influenced doo-wop and rockabilly sounds with morbid and violent imagery and lyrics which are often influenced by horror films and science fiction B-movies. The genre was pioneered by the Misfits in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Subsequent bands formed in the Misfits' wake like Mourning Noise, the Undead and Samhain, solidifying horror punk's first wave. In the late 1990s and early 2000s the genre gained attention through the reunion of the Misfits and success of groups like AFI, Son of Sam and the Murderdolls. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Gothic Metal
Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. The music of gothic metal is diverse with bands known to adopt the gothic approach to different styles of heavy metal music. The genre originated during the early 1990s in the United Kingdom originally as an outgrowth of death-doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. Lyrics are generally dark and introspective with inspiration from gothic fiction as well as personal experiences. Pioneers of gothic metal include Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema, all from the north of England. Demolition Records was a British record label based in Jarrow, England, specialising in heavy metal and rock, with many international artists. It was founded in 2000 by brothers Ged and Eric Cook. There were also distribution offices in Frankfurt, Manhattan, and Tokyo. In 2007, the label was later rumoured to be signing ZZ Top and Whitesnake, which would greatly increase their sales, but the rumours were quickly dismissed. They also operated the sublabel DR2. Bloodwork (EP)
''Bloodwork'' is the first EP by American horror punk musician Wednesday 13 The band struggled to come to a conclusion as to whether the EP would receive a CD release or if it would stay download only for the time being. On June 4, 2008, a decision was reached and was posted on the band's Myspace blog "The Bloodwork EP, which is currently available for download on Itunes and Amazon, will be available for sale as a physical cd during the U.S. tour starting on July 1, 2008." Bloodwork was sold during the US and UK 2008 tours, and though once stated to be a tour exclusive, the EP was officially released online on January 22, 2009. ''Fuck It, We'll Do It Live'' is the first live album by American horror punk musician Wednesday 13. It contains a live performance recorded at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, Pennsylvania on July 18, 2008. The album was released on October 21, 2008, through Hot Topic locations in the United States and on website Interpunk.com, in a two-disc format with recordings of the live performance on CD and DVD. The album was inspired by a video clip featuring television personality Bill O'Reilly. In an outtake from '' Inside Edition'' from 1993 popularized on the Internet, O'Reilly shouts "Fuck it, we'll do it live!" after becoming frustrated by a last-minute alteration to the show's teleprompter text. The band members watched the video clip of this incident repeatedly and decided that it was emblematic of how they wanted to record a live show – without overdubbing in post-production. ''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication '' Mixmag''). It was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the '' Sounds'' newspaper. Named after the onomatopoeic word that derives from the sound made when playing a power chord on a distorted electric guitar, ''Kerrang!'' was initially devoted to the new wave of British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts.
