Skeleton at the Winter Olympics, Skeleton at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track in Yanqing District, China. The events took place between 10 and 12 February 2022. A total of two skeleton events were held, one each for men and women. A total of 50 quotas (25 per gender) were distributed to the sport, the same as the 2018 Winter Olympics. However, five men's quotas were transferred to the women's event to achieve gender equality. A total of 2 events were contested, one each for men and women. Qualification A total of 50 quota spots (25 per gender) were available to athletes to compete at the games. In July 2018, the International Olympic Committee moved five men's quotas to the women's event, to achieve gender equality. Christopher Grotheer (born 30 July 1992) is a German skeleton racer who has competed since 2007. His debut at the European Cup was in November 2010. Grotheer's best Skeleton World Cup finish was 3rd in season 2012–13. He won the Gold medal in Men's Skeleton Singles contest at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, Germany's first ever in the event. The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) is the international sports federation for the sliding sports of Bobsleigh and Skeleton. It was founded on 23 November 1923 by the delegates of Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States at the meeting of their first International Congress in Paris, France. In June 2015, it announced a name change from FIBT to IBSF. The federation's headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland. Kimberley Bos (born 7 October 1993) is a Dutch skeleton racer who competes on the Skeleton World Cup circuit. She started competing internationally in 2009, originally in bobsleigh, and was selected to the Dutch national team in 2010; she switched to skeleton for the 2013–14 European Cup season. Jaclyn Narracott (born 5 November 1990) is an Australian skeleton racer who competes on the Skeleton World Cup circuit. She began international skeleton competition in 2012 when she joined the Australian national team; in 2011 she competed in bobsleigh for two European Cup races.
