''Skeem'' is a 2011 South African movie that was written and directed by Tim Greene. It premiered on 16 October 2011 at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, where it won the Audience's Choice Award, and opened to local theaters in South Africa later that same month. Of the film, Greene has stated that he wanted to create a film that South Africans could watch that they could be proud of and "doesn't beat them up, lash them and make them feel like watching South African films is like penance". The title track for the film, "Oons behoort mos saam", was sung by Jack Parow and EJ von Lyrik. Synopsis The film centers on two friends who discover a cardboard cash filled with a million dollars after their car breaks down. They decide to stay at a nearby resort, where the staff and other guests quickly discover that the pair has a large amount of money, causing everyone to create plans to steal the cash. Timothy Greene
Timothy John Greene (born 1969 in Cape Town, South Africa) is a South African actor, film director, and writer. He is also known as Tim Greene and cited under that name in most articles about him. The making of ''Boy Called Twist'' Greene's first feature film '' Boy Called Twist'' was an innovation in South African film finance. In 2002 Greene put out a call that he was looking for 1000 investors who could each risk R1000.00, (app US$145) spreading the risk across a broad community of like-minded people. By August 2003 a million rands had been secured. Two trusts contributed further grants to a total of R400,000.00 to the project. ''John and John'' is a Ghanaian movie that features two friends who were both called John. One John duped a man by selling him fake gold. The two friends were running away with the money, but their car went faulty and they lodged in a guest house. As they were taking the money from their bag, it fell on the ground and created anxiety among the guests and workers in the hotel and everybody wanted to steal the money Of interest, the film is a wholesale, unauthorized remake of a South African film called ''Skeem'' which was written and directed by Tim Greene in 2011. In 2017, Ghanain journalists reached out to Greene to check Asamoah's claim that he had received permission to adapt the movie, which he had not. Zander Tyler (born February 22, 1982), better known under his stage name Jack Parow, is a South African rapper who has collaborated with other South African artists such as Die Heuwels Fantasties, Die Antwoord, and Francois Van Coke. Career Parow wanted to be a rapper since he was in primary school.
