Skarpa Powsińska is a Districts and neighbourhoods of Warsaw, neighbourhood, and a City Information System (Warsaw), City Information System area, located in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Ursynów. The area includes two single-family neighbourhoods, Janówek, Warsaw, Janówek and Łęczyca, Warsaw, Łęczyca, as well as the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden – Powsin Centre for Biological Diversity Conservation, and the Powsin Culture Park. History In 1913, within current Skarpa Powsińska, then part of the village of Klarysew, was constructed the Janówek Villa. From 1928, it was the residence of Fangor family. In 1943 artist Wojciech Fangor, created there a ceiling painting titled ''Pleiades'', with mythological and astronomical motives. The Floralia was a festival of ancient Roman religion in honor of the goddess Flora, held on 27 April during the Republican era, or 28 April in the Julian calendar. The festival included ''Ludi Florae'', the "Games of Flora", which lasted for six days under the empire. The festival had a licentious, pleasure-seeking atmosphere. In contrast to many festivals which had a patrician character, the games of Flora were plebeian in nature.
