Patrik Sjöberg
Jan Niklas Patrik Sjöberg (; born 5 January 1965) is a Swedish former high jumper. He broke the world record with in Stockholm on 30 June 1987. This mark is still the European record and ranks him third on the world all-time list behind Javier Sotomayor and Mutaz Essa Barshim. He twice held the world indoor record holder with marks of 2.38 m (1985) and 2.41 m (1987). He was the 1987 World Champion and three-times an Olympic medallist. Early life Sjöberg was born in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland and was a member of the Örgryte IS club. Career Sjöberg has a gold medal from the World Championships in Rome 1987 and has three Olympic medals: silver medals from Los Angeles 1984 and Barcelona 1992, and a bronze medal from Seoul 1988. Karl Gustaf Magnus Sjöberg (born 26 September 1927) is a Swedish jurist. He served as the Prosecutor-General of Sweden from 1978 to 1989 and as President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Sweden from 1990 to 1994. Early life Sjöberg was born on 26 September 1927 in Klinte, Sweden, the son of the Gustaf Sjöberg, a provost, and his wife Elsa (born Kloetzen). He received a Candidate of Law degree from Uppsala University in 1953. Career Sjöberg did his clerkship from 1953 to 1956. Sjöberg served as an extra legal clerk (''fiskal'') in the Svea Court of Appeal in 1956 and '' tingsrätt'' secretary in the Nedansiljan Judicial District from 1957 to 1959. Sjöberg was then a judge (''rådman'') in Visby from 1959 to 1961 and a co-opted member of the Svea Court of Appeal from 1961 to 1962, and became an associate judge there in 1963. Sven Erik Alf Sjöberg (21 June 1903 – 17 April 1980) was a Swedish theatre and film director. He won the Grand Prix du Festival at the Cannes Film Festival twice: in 1946 for ''Torment'' ( sv, Hets) (part of an eleven-way tie), and in 1951 for his film ''Miss Julie'' ( sv, Fröken Julie) (an adaptation of August Strindberg's play which tied with Vittorio De Sica's '' Miracle in Milan''). Despite his success with those films, Sjöberg was foremost a stage director, perhaps the greatest at Dramaten (alongside first Olof Molander and later Ingmar Bergman). Birger Sjöberg (1885–1929) was a Swedish poet, novelist and songwriter, whose best-known works include the faux-naïf song collection ''Fridas Bok'' (Frida's Book) and the novel ''Kvartetten Som Sprängdes'' (The Quartet That Split Up), a somewhat Dickensian relation about stock-exchange gambling in the twenties, and the frantic efforts to recover. Originally a journalist, Sjöberg wrote songs in his spare time. His debuted as a serious writer with the 1922 publication of ''Fridas Bok'' (Frida's Book), which was both a critical and popular success. Following a series of concert tours, he withdrew from public life and focused on his writing. After his death in 1929, a new series of songs and a selection of poems were published.
