Nankudi Vellalar (Nangudi Vellalar or Sivakalai Pillaimar), is a Tamil sub caste of Vellalar found in Tamil Nadu, India. These group of people are considered to be proper believers and followers of Shaivism (Religion that preaches Lord Shiva as the Supreme God). They come under the Suryakula Kshatriya Clan as per the ancient Indian Varuna System.They also claim descent from the Velir hereditary of Irungovels The hereditary headman of the caste was always invested with the title ''Irungovel''. Thoothukudi District is one of the 38 districts of Tamil Nadu state in southern India. The district was formed by bifurcation of Tirunelveli district on 20 October 1986.
