''Situation'' () is a concept developed by French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. It refers to "how ritualized action might be avoided or at least confronted consciously as contrary to the subject's freedom of nihilation". Overview The concept was first expressed in his 1943 work '' Being and Nothingness'', where he wrote that: Earlier, in his 1939 novella '' The Childhood of a Leader'' collected in '' The Wall'', Sartre expressed the concept while referring to pranks, saying that they "have a revolutionary value. They disturb. There is more destructive power in them than in all the works of Lenin." Another famous use of the term was in 1945, in his editorial of the first issue of '' Les Temps modernes'' (Modern Times); arguing the principle of the responsibility of the intellectual towards his own times and the principle of an engaged literature, he summarized that "the writer is in a ''situation'' with his epoch." Release The song "Situations" was released in 1988 as the first single. from their 1990 debut album ''Southern Lands'', appearing in a remixed version. The second single, "Have in Mind", was released as a single in December 1988. A new remixed version appeared on ''Southern Lands''. The third single "A Dónde" was released in 1989, The song was released as a single in Spain and appeared on ''Southern Lands''. and the extended version originally featured as the B-side to " So Strange". A new 12" remix version b/w "Una Mujer" was released in 1993. Mexican band Sentidos Opuestos recorded a cover version of the song which was included on their 1997 album ''Viviendo del Futuro''. The fourth and final single, "So Strange", was released in November 1989. A shorter edited version of the song appeared on ''Southern Lands''. Situations – The Very Best Of Cetu Javu
Cetu Javu was a German synth-pop band that was active between 1987 and 1994, consisting of singer Javier Revilla Diez, Chris Demere on keyboards, Stefan Engelke and Torsten Engelke. Vocalist Revilla Diez was born in Germany, and although his parents had emigrated from Spain, most of his songs are sung in English with several in Spanish. Cetu Javu had several dance hits with "Situations", "Have in Mind (The Kalimba Mix)" and "A Dónde". After Cetu Javu ended, vocalist Revilla Diez became a professor of geography at the Leibniz University Hannover. Since April 2014, Revilla Diez holds a Chair in human geography at the Institute of Geography at the University of Cologne. On November 19, 2020, after 25 years without appearing in any media, Javier Revilla gave an exclusive interview with Spanish radio host Miguel Moreno in which he told the entire story of the Group.
