Sittin' On Chrome
''Sittin' on Chrome'' is the second and final studio album by American hip hop group Masta Ace Incorporated and the third album by Brooklyn-based rapper Masta Ace. It was released on May 2, 1995, through Delicious Vinyl. The recording sessions took place at Firehouse Studios in Brooklyn. The album was produced by Masta Ace under his producer moniker 'Ase One', as well as the Bluez Brothas, Louie "Phat Kat" Vega, and Uneek, with Orlando Aguillen serving as executive producer. It peaked at number 69 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number 19 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. Ace followed the success of his 1994 hits "Jeep Ass Niguh" and "Crooklyn" (released with the Crooklyn Dodgers) with his most commercially successful album, which concentrated more on the West Coast hip hop/gangsta rap sound that particularly became a popular trend among many artists nationwide since the mega-success of Dr. Dre's ''The Chronic''. Masta Ace Incorporated
Masta Ace Incorporated was an American Hip hop music, hip hop crew formed by rapper Masta Ace. History The group, also known as ''The I.N.C.'', included Eyceurokk (Eyce, Uneek and Rokkdiesel), Lord Digga, Paula Perry and R&B vocalist Leschea. Ace first gained notice in the rap world as a member of the legendary Juice Crew, and with the release of his acclaimed 1990 debut ''Take a Look Around (album), Take a Look Around'', which featured an appearance from Eyceurokk. In 1992, Ace formed the I.N.C. crew and recorded their first group album, ''SlaughtaHouse'', which was released in May 1993. Ace provided almost all of the rapping, with Lord Digga serving as the hype-man. Crooklyn Dodgers
The Crooklyn Dodgers were a hip-hop supergroup based in Brooklyn, New York City, consisting of rotating members. They appeared in three separate incarnations in 1994, 1995, and 2007. The first two incarnations recorded for the soundtracks for Spike Lee films, '' Crooklyn'' and '' Clockers'', respectively. Claydes "Charles" Smith (born Claydes Eugene Smith; September 6, 1948 – June 20, 2006) was an American musician best known as co-founder and lead guitarist of the group Kool & the Gang. Biography Early life Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was introduced to jazz guitar by his father in the early 1960s. Kool & the Gang In the late 1960s, he joined with Ronald Bell (later Khalis Bayyan), Robert "Kool" Bell, George Brown, Dennis Thomas and Robert "Spike" Mickens to become Kool & the Gang. Roy Edward Ayers Jr. (September 10, 1940 – March 4, 2025) was an American vibraphonist, record producer, and composer. Ayers began his career as a post-bop jazz artist, releasing several studio albums with Atlantic Records, before his tenure at Polydor Records beginning in the 1970s, during which he helped to pioneer jazz-funk. Schea Boatwright (born January 27, 1971), better known by the stage name of Leschea (pronounced le-SHAY) is a contemporary R&B performer who had success in 1995 and 1996 with her debut album ''Rhythm & Beats''. Rudolph "Rudy" Bernard Isley (April 1, 1939 – October 11, 2023) was an American singer-songwriter and Christian minister and one of the founding members of The Isley Brothers. Life and career Rudolph "Rudy" Bernard Isley was born on April 1, 1939, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he began singing in church at a young age. Ronald Isley ( ; born May 21, 1941) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Isley is the lead singer and founding member of the family music group The Isley Brothers. Early life Born in 1941 to Sallye Bernice (née Bell) and O'Kelly Isley Sr, Isley was the third of six brothers (O'Kelly Isley Jr., Rudolph Isley, Vernon Isley, Ernie Isley, Marvin Isley). O'Kelly "Kelly" Isley Jr. (December 25, 1937 – March 31, 1986) was an American singer and one of the founding members of the family group the Isley Brothers. Early life The eldest of the Isley Brothers, Kelly started singing with his brothers at church.
