Sital Kumar Sardar
Sital Kumar Sardar (born 1942) is an Indian politician from West Bengal. He is a five time consecutive member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Sankrail Assembly constituency, which is reserved for Scheduled Caste community, in Howrah district. He first won the 1996 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election representing the Indian National Congress and went on to win four more times till 2016 on All India Trinamool Congress ticket. Early life and education Sardar is from Sankrail, Howrah district, West Bengal. He is the son of late Khandu Charan Sardar. He studied Class 12 at Shibpur Dinabandhu Institution, in the then Calcutta in 1961. Earlier, he did his schooling at New Andul High School and passed the board examinations in 1959. 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in 2016 for 294 seats of the ''Vidhan Sabha'' in the Indian state of West Bengal. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was re-elected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days. The first phase was held in Naxalite-Maoist affected red corridor areas with two polling dates: 4 April and 11 April. The other phases were held on 17, 21, 25, 30 April and 5 May.
