Sisters In Crime
Sisters in Crime (SinC) is a writing organization focused on increasing equity and inclusion for women crime writers within the publishing industry. The group has 4,500 members in 60+ regional chapters worldwide, offering networking, advice and support to mystery authors. Members are authors, readers, publishers, agents, booksellers and librarians bound by their affection for the mystery genre and their support of women who write mysteries. Sue Henry
Sue Henry (January 19, 1940 – November 20, 2020) was an American writer of mystery thriller fiction. She was also a librarian, college administrator, and instructor at the University of Alaska. Biography According to her obituary in the ''Anchorage Daily News'', she was born Mathilda Sue Hall in Salmon, Idaho, and married Paul K. Henry in 1965; they had two boys, Bruce and Eric. After they divorced, she moved the boys to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1975. Her first book '' Murder on the Iditarod Trail'' (1991), was well reviewed and won both the Macavity Awards and Anthony Awards for best first novel, prompting the author to develop a series based on this book's characters, Alaskan state trooper Alex Jensen and Jessie Arnold, a sled dog racer. The Davitt Awards are literary awards which are presented annually by the Sisters in Crime Australia association. The awards are named in honour of Ellen Davitt (1812–1879) who wrote Australia's first mystery novel, ''Force and Fraud'' in 1865. Jennifer J. Chow is an American writer and novelist. She is an Agatha, Anthony, Lefty, and Lilian Jackson Braun Award nominated author. Chow has also published other Asian-American novels involving secrets and mysteries. She's active in Sisters in Crime, Crime Writers of Color, and Mystery Writers of America.
