Sir Orlando Bridgeman, 1st Baronet, Of Great Lever
Sir Orlando Bridgeman, 1st Baronet (30 January 1606 – 25 June 1674) was an English law#Common law, English common law jurist, lawyer, and politician who sat in the House of Commons of England, House of Commons from 1640 to 1642. He supported the Cavaliers, Royalist cause in the English Civil War, Civil War. Early life and education Bridgeman was the son of John Bridgeman (bishop), John Bridgeman, Bishop of Chester, and his wife Elizabeth Helyar, daughter of Reverend William Helyar. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1624. The same year, Bridgeman became a fellow at Magdalene College, Cambridge and was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple. Career Bridgeman worked as a barrister until 1632, and was named vice chamberlain of Chester in 1638. Sir Francis Bridgeman, 3rd Baronet
The Bridgeman baronetcy, of Ridley in the County of Chester, was created on 12 November 1673 for Orlando Bridgeman, Member of Parliament for Horsham and younger son of the 1st Baronet, of the Great Lever creation. He was succeeded by his son, the 2nd Baronet. The latter was Member of Parliament for Calne, Lostwithiel, Blechingley and Dunwich. Francis Bridgeman (Royal Navy Officer)
Admiral Sir Francis Charles Bridgeman Bridgeman, (born Bridgeman-Simpson; 7 December 1848 – 17 February 1929) was a Royal Navy officer. As a captain he commanded a battleship and then an armoured cruiser and then, after serving as second-in-command of three different fleets, he twice undertook tours as Commander-in-Chief of the Home Fleet with a stint as Second Sea Lord in between those tours. He became First Sea Lord in November 1911 but clashed with First Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill on technical issues as well as matters relating to a perceived overriding of naval traditions by Churchill: this led to Bridgeman's resignation just a year later.
