Siquijor ( , ), officially the Province of Siquijor (; ), is a Philippines, Philippine Provinces of the Philippines, island province (List of islands of the Philippines, the third smallest in the country, in terms of population and land area) located within the Negros Island Region. Negros Island Region
The Negros Island Region (NIR). is an administrative region in the Philippines. Lazi, officially the Municipality of Lazi (; ), is a municipality in the province of Siquijor, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 22,488. Lazi Church is currently in the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites under the Baroque Churches of the Philippines (Extension). Siquijor Provincial Board
The Siquijor Provincial Board is the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial legislature) of the Philippine province of Siquijor. The members are elected via plurality-at-large voting: the province is divided into two districts (north and south), each having three seats. A voter votes up to three names, with the top three candidates per district being elected. The vice governor is the ''ex officio'' presiding officer, and only votes to break ties. The vice governor is elected via the plurality voting system province-wide. San Isidro Labrador Parish Church, commonly known as Lazi Church, is a Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Lazi, Siquijor, Philippines within the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Dumaguete. It became an independent parish in 1857 under the advocacy of Saint Isidore the Laborer. The church, also known for its huge convent, was declared a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines. It is also nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List since 2006 under the collective group of Baroque Churches of the Philippines (Extension) together with the churches of Boljoon, Guiuan, Loboc and Tumauini.
