Sipayi (film)
''Sipayi'' is a 1996 Kannada-language action film, directed and produced by V. Ravichandran. The film stars Ravichandran and Soundarya in lead roles with Chiranjeevi appearing in an extended cameo. Music and lyrics were composed by Hamsalekha. The movie was later dubbed in Telugu as ''Major'', and released on 5 December 1998. It was also dubbed in Tamil. Plot Shanti is a bubbly, young village girl who loves rain but is afraid of thunder and lightning. She wants to live a life of freedom. Sipayi (Shivu) loves Shanti since childhood. Shanti's parents too want their daughter to marry Sipayi. Shanti's father Baaji Bettayya is renowned in and around the village for never losing a single sheep fight. One day, the village head's son Vicky sees Shanti and lusts after her. He devices a plan and invites Bettayya for a sheep fight. Bettayya keeps winning all the matches. Ravichandran (Kannada Actor)
Veeraswamy Ravichandran (born 30 May 1961), known Mononymous person, mononymously as Ravichandran, is an Indian actor, director, producer, music director, lyricist and editor working predominantly in Kannada cinema. The son of film producer N. Veeraswamy, he continues to produce and distribute films under his father's production house, Sri Eswari Productions. He is popularly referred to as "Crazy Star" by the media and his fans. Starting his acting career as a child artist in ''Kula Gowrava'' (1971), Ravichandran started early as a co-producer for films such as ''Khadeema Kallaru'' (1982) and ''Chakravyuha'' (1983) besides acting in supporting roles. Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for Kannada film industry in Karnataka, India. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually by the Government of Karnataka to honor the best talent and to provide encouragement and incentive to the Kannada film industry. Mekedatu
Mekedatu is a location along Kaveri in the border of Chamarajanagar district, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagara district, Ramanagara Districts. From this point, about 3.5 kilometers downstream, the river Kaveri flows through a deep and narrow gorge. Mekedatu means 'goat's leap' in Kannada. The name comes from an event which is believed to have been witnessed by herdsmen in that area a long time ago. It is said that a goat being chased by a tiger made a desperate attempt to save its life by leaping from one side of the gorge and managed to cross over the raging river below, whereas the tiger did not attempt to replicate this feat, and abandoned the chase. The point where the goat leapt has widened since then from erosion caused by the river Cauvery. It is about 110 km from Bengaluru via Kanakapura. Sakleshpur, also known as Sakleshpura or Sakaleshapura, is a hill station town and headquarters of Sakleshpur taluk and one of the two Sub-divisional headquarters in Hassan district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
