Sioux City Explorers
The Sioux City Explorers are a professional minor league baseball team based in Sioux City, Iowa, in the United States. The Explorers are members American Association of Professional Baseball, an official Partner League of Major League Baseball. Since their inception in 1993, the Explorers have played their home games at Lewis and Clark Park. The Explorers, frequently called the X's, have played in the American Association since 2006. Previously, they were members of the Northern League. Blaine Hardy
Blaine Patrick Hardy (born March 14, 1987) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers. College career Hardy attended Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, Washington, graduating in 2005. He then enrolled at the University of Portland in 2006 where he played for the school's college baseball team. Hardy then transferred to Bellevue College for the 2007 season, and would go on to play for Lewis–Clark State College in 2008. Nate Bland
Nathan Garrett Bland (born December 27, 1974) is a former professional baseball pitcher. Career Bland played high school baseball at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama and was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 4th round of the 1993 Major League Baseball Draft. He played in the Dodgers system through 1998 before missing the 1999 season with an injury.. He signed with the San Diego Padres for 2000 but was cut at the end of spring training and signed with the Sioux City Explorers of the Independent Northern League. Matt Turner (baseball)
William Matthew Turner (February 18, 1967 – January 27, 2019) was a professional baseball relief pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from through . He batted and threw right-handed. In a two-season career in Major League Baseball, Turner posted a 5–5 record with a 2.79 ERA and one save in 64 games. Career Turner was signed by the Atlanta Braves as a free agent in 1986. Then he was sent by Atlanta to the Houston Astros in 1991 in the same transaction that brought Jim Clancy to the Braves. On October 21, 1992, Turner became the first AAA to sign with the Florida Marlins. Turner made his major league debut with the Marlins in 1993 coming out from the bullpen. Carl Edward Nichols (born October 14, 1962) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) catcher. He played parts of six seasons in the major leagues, from 1986 until 1991, for the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros, appearing in a total of 96 games while batting .204 with 18 RBIs. Boyd played for the Boston Red Sox (1982–1989), Montreal Expos (1990–1991), and Texas Rangers (1991).
