Sinton is a city in and the county seat of San Patricio County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,665 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1886 and was named in honor of David Sinton, a influential business owner and rancher. Geography Sinton is located at (28.034824, –97.508942). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km), all land. Climate The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. Sinton has a humid subtropical climate, ''Cfa'' according to the Köppen climate classification system.
