	Siniestro Total Siniestro Total (meaning literally 'total write-off' as in the insurance term for a vehicle that is beyond repair following a motor accident) is a Galicia (Spain), Galician punk rock group from Vigo, Spain. It was founded in 1981 during the cultural movement called Movida viguesa by Julián Hernández, Alberto Torrado and Miguel Costas. After many changes in personnel, current members are Julián Hernández, Javier Soto, Óscar G. Avendaño, Ángel González and Jorge Beltrán. Style Their first album, ''¿Cuándo se come aquí?'' (When do we eat here?), features very short songs, with a marked punk style. In the second one, ''Siniestro Total II: El Regreso'' (Siniestro Total II: The Return), songs are essentially punk, but more instruments come to play. In the third one, ''Menos mal que nos queda Portugal'' (At least we still have Portugal), the punk evolves to a more classical rock music, rock, although lyrics are still punk. The album tells the story of Jack Griffin, a fictional African-American musician. Siniestro Total use Griffin's life as a means to chronicle both the evolution of blues during the 20th century and "the recent history of the United States, with all of its wonders and all of its atrocities". Jack Griffin's story Jack Griffin was born in the late 1800s in a cotton plantation on the banks of the Mississippi delta. As a young boy, Griffin was fascinated by the blues music played by itinerant bands, to the extent that the devil (which in this story adopts the name of Nick LeFreak) offers him a deal: eternal life and extraordinary musicianship in exchange for devoting his existence to spread blues (the devil's music, according to tradition) throughout the nation.
