Singapore participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018. Singapore National Olympic Council
The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) is the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the Republic of Singapore. It was founded in 1947 as the Singapore Olympic and Sports Council (SOSC) before renaming to its current iteration in 1970. The SNOC is responsible for supporting, entering and overseeing Team Singapore for the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Winter Olympic Games, Winter Youth Olympic Games, SEA Games, Asian Games, Asian Youth Games and the Commonwealth Games. Jennie Gai (born February 25, 2001) is an American badminton player who competes in international level events. Nhat Nguyen
Nhat Nguyen (; , ; born 16 June 2000) is an Irish badminton player. Born in Vietnam, Nguyen left the country for a new life in Dublin, Ireland along with his parents and older sister, when he was six years old. Then, he started playing badminton at the local club with his father. He was the gold medalist at the 2016 European U17 Championships in the boys' singles event, and also won the bronze medal in the doubles event partnered with Paul Reynolds. At the same year, he clinched the men's singles title at the Irish National Championships. Christopher Grimley (born 6 February 2000) is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. His doubles partner is his twin brother Matthew Grimley. Christopher has competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career Early career Christopher Grimley started to know about badminton at the age of six because his parents playing this sport. Badminton At The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics – Mixed Teams
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Fernanda Saponara Rivva (born July 12, 2001) is a Peruvian female badminton player who competes internationally. Early life Her whole family is made up of athletes (especially in basketball), so she started gymnastics and basketball when she was little. She loved these sports, but one day she told her parents that she wanted to practice a racket sport in the summer and enrolled in an academy. That's where she started playing badminton. Li Shifeng (; born 9 January 2000) is a Chinese badminton player. He started playing badminton when he was 6 years old, getting support from his father. Li then practiced in the Jiangxi team when he was in the elementary school, after that went to the Bayi team.
