Christopher Grimley
Christopher Grimley (born 6 February 2000) is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. His doubles partner is his twin brother Matthew Grimley. Christopher has competed at the Badminton at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career Early career Christopher Grimley started to know about badminton at the age of six because his parents playing this sport. He used to attend Lourdes Primary School before he got the chance to move to the Glasgow School of Sport, based at Bellahouston Academy. The twins have already won a host of titles and are the Scottish National U–13 doubles champions in 2012. They also hold the doubles titles for Glasgow, the West of Scotland and the East of Scotland. Jesper Toft (born 7 February 1999) is a Danish badminton player. He won a gold medal at the 2025 European Championships in the mixed doubles and the silver medal in the men's doubles in 2024. Career Born in Dall Villaby, a small town in the Aalborg Municipality, Toft started playing badminton at the age of four where his mother took him to the Svenstrup Badminton Club. He won the bronze medal in 2017 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles with Daniel Lundgaard and won another bronze in the team event as well. Andreas Søndergaard (born 3 May 1998) is a Danish badminton player. Career Søndergaard studied from Ikast Sports College in a small town of Ikast in Central Denmark Region. In 2018, he moved to Værløse in Danish Capital Region to pursue his dream of becoming a top badminton prospect from his country. He is considered to be a late bloomer, as his biggest successes came only in 2024 when he won the National Championships and most prominently a silver medal at the European Badminton Championships with partner Jesper Toft. Irish Open (badminton)
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open (badminton), Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding.
