Singapore Classic
The Singapore Classic is a professional golf tournament played on the European Tour, held at Laguna National Golf & Country Club, in Singapore. The tournament was announced in June 2022 and was the first time that the European Tour has visited Singapore since the 2014 Championship at Laguna National, played at the same venue. European Tour
The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged fifty or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men’s professional golf in Europe. Stroke Play
Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds. Although most professional tournaments are played using the stroke play scoring system, some notable exceptions exist. Ockert Strydom (born 8 January 1985) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. The Championship At Laguna National
The Ballantine's Championship (known as The Championship at Laguna National in its final year) was a European Tour golf tournament which was played from 2008 to 2014. It was the first European Tour event to be staged in South Korea. From 2008 to 2010, the tournament was played at Pinx Golf Club on the island of Jeju. From 2011 to 2013, the tournament was played at Blackstone Golf Club. In 2014, the event has moved to Laguna National Golf & CC in Singapore and titled as The Championship at Laguna National. Sami Välimäki
Sami Välimäki (born 16 July 1998) is a Finnish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. On his 6th European Tour start he won the 2020 Oman Open. Amateur career During 2018 Välimäki was selected for the Europe team in the Bonallack Trophy and for the Continent of Europe team in the St Andrews Trophy. He played for the Finnish team that won the 2018 European Amateur Team Championship and represented Finland in the 2018 Eisenhower Trophy. He reached as high as 10th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking during 2018. While still an amateur, Välimäki also played a number of Nordic Golf League events in during 2017 and 2018. The Asian Tour is the principal men's professional golf tour in Asia except for Japan, which has its own Japan Golf Tour, which is also a full member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. LIV Golf () is a professional golf tour financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. The name "LIV" refers to the Roman numerals for 54, the score if every hole on a par-72 course were birdied and the number of holes to be played at LIV events. 2023 European Tour
The 2023 European Tour, titled as the 2023 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 52nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. It is the second season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. In September 2022, the opening six events of the 2023 season were announced; they were all co-sanctioned events, four with the South Africa-based Sunshine Tour and two with the PGA Tour of Australasia, and were scheduled for late 2022.
