''Singalongs'' is the second studio album released by Latvian instrumental cello rock trio Melo-M. The album is produced by trio member Kārlis Auzāns and recorded 2007 at Chellout Studios in Riga, Latvia. The album consists of 11 cover version tracks. Melo-M
Melo-M is a Latvian instrumental music, instrumental cello rock trio consisting of three classically trained cellists: Kārlis Auzāns, Miķelis Dobičins and Jānis Pauls. The name is derived from the word wikt:melomania, melomania. They are known for their instrumental cover versions of various English language songs, most notably "The Final Countdown (song), The Final Countdown", the theme from "Mission: Impossible (1966 TV series), Mission Impossible" and the Ghostbusters (song), theme from ''Ghostbusters''. Cello trio Melo-M emerged in 2005 when academically trained musicians Karlis Auzans, Miķelis Dobičins and Janis Pauls decided to unite their musical talents and create a band. Ghostbusters (song)
"Ghostbusters" is a song written by American musician Ray Parker Jr. as the theme to the 1984 film '' Ghostbusters'', and included on its soundtrack. Debuting at number 68 on June 16, 1984, the song peaked at No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on August 11, staying there for three weeks (Parker's only number one on that chart), and at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart on September 16, staying there for three weeks. The song reentered the UK Top 75 on November 2, 2008 at No. 49 and again on November 5, 2021, at No. 38. The song was nominated at the 57th Academy Awards for Best Original Song but lost to Stevie Wonder's " I Just Called to Say I Love You". Laima Vaikule
Laima Vaikule (born 31 March 1954) is a Latvian actress, singer, director, and choreographer, best known in Europe and in the former Soviet Union for such popular hits as "Vernissage" and "Charlie," among other songs. Biography Vaikule was born on 31 March 1954, in Cēsis, Latvia. Her parents moved to Riga when she was three. Young Laima was fond of music and dancing. In 1966, at the age of 12, she took part in a competition of young singers and was noticed. Between 1970 and 1973, she studied nursing at the Vilnius Medical College, while also continuing to sing with a band. Eventually, she became a lead singer with a local band in Riga, Latvia and worked night gigs at local clubs and restaurants for several years. In the 1980s she studied acting and directing at Moscow State Institute for Theatrical Arts (GITIS), graduating as actress and director. In 1985, Laima Vaikule made her first hit in the Soviet Union. Raimonds Pauls
Ojārs Raimonds Pauls (born 12 January 1936) is a Latvian composer and a pianist who is well known in the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe. He was the Minister of Culture of Latvia from 1988 to 1993. His songs were performed by such popular singers as Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontyev, Laima Vaikule, Jaak Joala, Roza Rymbayeva, Svetlana Loboda and others. Biography Raimonds Pauls is the second child of Iļģuciems' glass blowing factory worker Voldemārs Pauls and seamstress Alma Matilde Brodele. Intars Busulis (born 2 May 1978 in Talsi, Latvia) is a Latvian singer, trombonist and musician in a Musical Union ''Intars Busulis & Abonementa orķestris.''
